It's important to keep my clients educated on how to keep your eyes clean while wearing lash extensions. Eye hygiene is an essential part of your daily routine and this should not be ignored while wearing lashes. Many people think that if they wash their lashes, it will make them fall out. In fact, if you keep your lashes clean, it could extend the life of your lash extensions as natural oils can break down the adhesive that hold your lash extensions to your natural lashes.
By not keeping up with eye hygiene, it can cause the following eye conditions:
- Stye- a red lump in the eyelid margin which can be very painful. It's caused by an infection of the sebaceous glands at the base of the eyelashes.
- Blephartis - an inflammtion and irritation of the margins of the eyelids, due to an allergic, infectious, seborrheic, irratable or mixed reason. It usually occurs in both eyes at the same time, and it is recurrent.
