Eliminating Foot Calluses

While I know this is not the most glamorous topic, many of us have this issue.  In the colder months most people notice the heels of their feet get dry and hard, covered with a thick callous.  Unfortunately, as we slather on lotions and creams, the issue doesn't appear to resolve.

The first step to resolving the issue of developing calluses on your feet is to understand what causes them.  Here are a few things that cause calloused feet.
  • Repeated friction
  • Ill-fitting shoes
  • Foot deformities
  • Wearing shoes without socks
  • Pressure
Knowing the cause can help you change certain habits that could be contributing to calloused feet.  But once you already have the callous, what can you use?

You can use a foot peel called Baby Foot!  Baby foot is basically a pair of booties filled with solution that comes from various fruits.  After washing your feet, you simply place the booties on your feet for an hour or 2 and then wash your feet afterwards.  You won't see any difference immediately but over a period of a week or so, you'll start noticing the dead skin on your feet peeling off like the picture above.  What you have after that dead skin falls off are super soft feet just like a newborn baby.

I'll be carrying this item soon for $10 a pair.  If you're interested in ordering, email me at dela@dela-antoinettes,com.

Natural Facial Cleanser

For those of you that prefer not to use a lot of chemicals on your skin, I think I've found one of the best cleansers/acne fighters out there. Raw honey!  I've tried this myself and the results were pretty incredible.

Here are some benefits that you get from cleansing with honey:

  • Natural antibacterial properties that helps fight breakouts and acne
  • Removes dirt from skin and pores without stripping natural oils
  • Works great on all skin types including sensitive skin, rosacea and eczema
  • Helps to fade scars
You want to make sure you use raw honey for the best results.  To use, simply put some on your fingers and add a few drops of water to help it spread easily.  Rub it all over your face as you would with any cleanser and when done, simply rinse it off and pat your face with a dry towel.

I found I didn't have to use a moisturizer afterwards because it left my skin feeling supple and moist. If you have acne like I do, scars or you're simply looking for a natural alternative to clean your face that's inexpensive, raw honey is the way to go.
